Workshops at San Luis
Mission San Luis offers a wide range of educational programming for adults and children. Our workshops provide the opportunity to learn about 17th century Spanish and Native American crafts and lifestyles while expressing your creativity. Participants will gain the skills needed to craft materials or cook foods similar to those made by 17th century residents of Mission San Luis.

Blacksmithing for Beginners
1st and 4th Saturdays of each month

Ages 13 and up Members: $45
Non-members: $60Join us at the Mission San Luis forge for an introduction to blacksmithing. Start the day learning to build and maintain a fire in a traditional Spanish-style forge. Using basic techniques of fire and hammer, create your own masterpiece and leave tired and inspired.
Participants must bring a lunch and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes. -
Saint Martha's Hearth Historic Cooking Classes
3rd Saturday of each month

11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Ages 13 and up Members: $15
Non-members: $20Gather around the fire and gossip with the cooks while preparing colonial meals. Learn about the Spanish and Apalachee foodways traditions and the influences they had on each other.
Participants must wear closed-toe shoes.

A non-refundable deposit of $15 is required to secure a space. The remainder of the fee must be paid before the start of the workshop. Please make checks payable to the Friends of Mission San Luis (FOMSL).
