Endowment Campaign Update by Former First Lady Columba Bush

Columba Bush Thanks to a growing number of caring, committed donors, Mission San Luis’ multi-million dollar endowment campaign has raised $1.2 million in gifts and grants and we are now able to begin utilizing the fund’s earned interest income to enhance its award-winning research and innovative educational programming.

Thus far, Mission San Luis’s endowment initiative has garnered enthusiastic support for which I remain very grateful. However, to meet our overall fundraising objective, we must complete a Challenge Grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). The grant period has been extended to culminate in 2010 and the NEH award is designated to provide $825,000 in federal funding once established financial benchmarks are realized.

Please give a gift to the campaign today! If you’ve already given, an additional contribution would be welcomed! Pledges are accepted and due by 2010. A limited number of high profile naming opportunities in the new Visitor Center are available for your consideration as well.
