Unforgettable Experiences in an Extraordinary Place

Visitor Information

Accessibility

Mission San Luis welcomes all visitors, and is committed to accessibility.

The Messer House Visitor Center features a closed-captioned orientation video, an audio tour with t-coil compatible listening wands, an audio descriptive site orientation for visitors who are blind or have vision impairments, and an exhibition with touch elements designed with input and assistance from the Florida Division of Blind Services. Visitor brochures, site guides, and a 193-page book on Mission San Luis are available in Braille.

After the Visitor Center orientation, visitors move outside to the site to meet with costumed interpreters who provide an introduction to life at the Mission. Wheelchairs are available upon request, and all aspects of the site (with the exception of the nature trail) are accessable.

Visitors are encouraged to use their senses to touch, smell, hear, and view the past. The living history staff demonstrates crafts and seasonal activities. Mission San Luis invites all visitors to experience life in the 17th century through its commitment to accessible facilities and programs.  Next
